Habitat for Humanity Quilters Tea

Attended a lovely tea today put on by Habitat for Humanity to thank the Ninigret Quilters for the many quilts we've made over the years. Who could resist mini open-faced sandwiches, lemon bars, scones with clotted cream and lemon curd and tiny chocolate brownies. The centerpieces were old spools of thread, thimbles, and pincushions. How wonderful it was to sit and be waited upon!

Day of Rain and Driving

Took older son, 'W',  to Boys State at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI. It's such a long drive and made me think of all the driving we'll do this summer looking at colleges. What a beautiful campus it is with wonderful views. I hope he gets a feel for whether he likes the size, dorms, etc., so he'll have something to think about elsewhere. This morning drove younger son, 'G', to a lacrosse tournament at Connecticut College. Both of these schools have a similar, New England coastal feel.
